Abstract
Antibiotic resistance often originates from a bacteria's ability to produce enzymes known as Beta-lactamases are known to exist and they are divided into four different classes (class A, B, C, D) depending on their structure. The SHV family of enzymes presented here belong to class A of serine Beta-lactamase.
