Abstract
The long term project will measurephosphorylated signaling molecules in hematopoieticstem cells and committed progenitorsin normal and acute myeloid leukemia(AML) samples. It will involve the evaluationof the phosphorylation state of the intracellular signaling molecules, ERK and the ribosomalprotein S6, in bone marrow cells from donors. In this short term project, the chronic myelogenousleukemia (CML) cell line, K562 (a type ofHematopoietic Stem Cells (Fig. 1)), was used in place of bone marrow cells to develop analyticalmethod.
