Abstract

David Anderson examines the Greek Revival architectural style of churches built in 19th century Western Reserve (Ohio). The author examines Greek Revival as an architectural choice, various ways that Greek style was expressed, and the relationship of the chosen architectural style to the democratic ideals of the United States.
