Abstract
David Hammack discusses the evolving definition of philanthropy, proposing that studies focus on nonprofit practices holistically rather than focus on individual charitable acts. The author also critiques traditional narratives of philanthropy that emphasize wealthy donors while neglecting the contributions of marginalized groups.
