Abstract
This symposium had the following objectives: [1] To facilitate a dialogue among the various parties concerned with the delivery, administration, planning of and education or research in the delivery of health care services within the Northeast Ohio region. [4] To formulate general and specific strategies for research necessary to provide quality care to wider segments of the community while containing total expenditures on health services. This symposium involved the hospitals: large, medium, small, public, private, teaching, non-teaching, etc., the "third parties", the employers, the unions, the public sector, the congressional delegation, the educational institutions, the planning bodies, and the professional associations.
