Abstract

In this thesis, a closed queueing-network model is embedded in an interactive computer model for resolving the manufacturing resources planning problem in designing flexible manufacturing systems (FMS). In addition to being a resources planning system for an FMS, this thesis also provides a partial solution and approach to the total integration of the facility design issues.
