Abstract
1964 was the year of passage of the Civil Rights Act Title VII of which addressed itself to the question of discrimination in employment because of sex. Since then, however, many companies have taken advantage of the lack of federal prosecution under this law. In the past few years, a few cases have been tried under this law but no appreciable headway was made in the fight against discrimination. This paper is a discussion of one of the methods by which the practice and effect of discrimination against women in hiring, firing, layoff rehiring and unequal pay can be proved. Past legal cases, a pending case and the specific solution to the problem at hand are discussed.
