Abstract
This study examines the Reserve Book System at the Health Center Library, part of the Cleveland Health Sciences Library. Initiated by a survey highlighting congestion at the Circulation desk, the study evaluates the current Reserve book policy and proposes improvements. Using Operations Research techniques, including the DELPHI method and computer simulation, the team developed a Scoring Model to assess alternative policies. Key recommendations include optimizing the number of reserve copies, reducing the number of books on reserve, and maintaining a single server at the Circulation desk. The study emphasizes the practical application of these models for future policy evaluation and management.
