Abstract
This paper describes the structure of a computer-aided dental practice management game and shows how it can be used by dentists to plan their own practices. The game covers a wide spectrum of management decisions in setting up and in running a dental practice. The decisions considered include practice form, location, staffing mix and staff salaries, as well as purchase versus lease options for equipment and/or for space. The game also covers major daily, monthly and yearly decisions including scheduling of patients, workers, and of operatories, forecasting of patient load, and utilization as well as economic analysis. Major design considerations of the dental practice management game are also mentioned.
