Abstract
This paper discusses computer aided comparisons of performance of alternative policies for patients and workers scheduling in a practice involving expanded duty dental auxiliaries. The comparisons are made in terms of net earnings, total number of patients served, worker utilization etc., using computer based simulation. Pre-determined scheduling is proved to be an efficient method under a wide range of conditions. Construction of the predetermined chart is also described, along with two programs written in FORTRAN IV to construct and then test such charts.
