Abstract

Glenn Sobola details the social and political contexts that led to the establishment of the Polish Catholic parish of St. Stanislaus in 1873 and the following divisions among the congregation that led supporters of the charismatic Reverend A.F. Kolaszewki to form the independent Catholic Church of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1894.
