Abstract
This paper addresses the need to consolidate knowledge while expanding it by creating taxonomies and/or generalized formulations. A number of ways to achieve that end are delineated and embedded in a suggested taxonomy of taxonomies. Selected works from both the "hard" and the management sciences are summarized to demonstrate the variety of knowledge consolidating role models and to test the effectiveness of the Taxonomy of Taxonomies.
