Abstract
This paper describes the software development and hardware of the cell controller for an emulator of flexible manufacturing systems (FMS). The facility uses actual microprocessor-based hardware for computer control, and computer simulation to emulate the signals emanating from the machining centers. It represents one of the major experimental capabilities of the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. [Published circa 1987.]
