Abstract
An unreliable flexible manufacturing system described in terms of a multi-parts open queueing network is considered. Using such a system and manufacturing cell's unreliability, this paper provides an estimate of parts' AOQ's (average outgoing quality). In addition, a framework which integrates quality control and assesses in terms of quality and the operational characteristics of flexible manufacturing systems is devised.
