Abstract
This paper discusses various formats of countertrade, from simple barter to complex joint ventures, as a means of expanding financial and other resources by non-profit institutions. Examples of the various types of agreements practiced by the various types of institutions are provided and summarized. Lastly, the paper calls for greater levels of institutional commitments to proactive seeking and consummating countertrade agreements.
